Our Mission, Objectives and Actions

Vision

We are a loving body of Christ dedicated to teaching the Word of God and serving with a focus on outreach.

Mission

Our mission is to demonstrate the Kingdom of God on earth through love, unity, relationships and spiritual growth.

Objective # 1

Plan and prepare for the New Pastor of OGBC.

  1. Make activities associated with call the New Pastor the highest priority.
  2. Expect some of our ministry activities to be interrupted when necessary.
  3. Make a priority to pray every day for the transition of leadership.

Objective # 2

Develop robust opportunities for spiritual formation, development, and growth.

  1. Pray for God's direction in our Pastor Search process.
  2. Continue to emphasize prayer through our Intercessory Prayer ministry sessions on Tuesdays (7pm) and Saturdays (7am).
  3. Continue to implement a fasting and prayer event each year.

Objective # 3

Focus on the spiritual growth and development of each generation of our church.

  1. Continue our Vacation Bible School in June.
  2. Continue to support SWAGGA, G3, and Male Mentoring activities.
  3. Continue to provide scholarships and reward youth and adults who further their education.
  4. Continue Youth Sunday on 4th Sundays and five Young Adult Sundays.
  5. Encourage all to take advantage of our biblical educational programs.

Objective # 4

Be the arms and legs of Jesus Christ by evangelizing and witnessing to all.

  1. Invite your family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors to experience Christ at OGBC.
  2. Expect ministry leaders to actively recruit members to join their ministry.
  3. Expect all ministries to be active in community service.
  4. Continue our support of local and foreign missions.

Objective # 5

Enhance the fellowship of all members of OGBC.

  1. Keep track of members through the Shepherd Ministry and consistent communications.
  2. Expect deacons to contact each Shepherd Group member every two months.

Objective # 6

Expand our ownership in the community.

  1. Purchase available real estate properties.
  2. Engage in low-risk investments to keep our money working for us.

Objective # 7

Establish Help Centers to improve the lives of members, friends, and neighbors.

  1. Startup Help Centers (Debt Elimination, Health Advocacy, Investments, Career Coaching, Home Ownership, Family Counseling, Substance-Free Groups, etc.).

Objective # 8

Continue to implement actions from our Five-Year Strategic Plan.

  1. Increase the automation of church services, information, communication, etc.
