Shepherding Program (Deacon & Deaconess Ministry)
Ministry Leaders: Deacon Dennis Haynes & Deaconess Doris Haynes
Description: The purpose of this ministry is to be committed to the Pastor and available to members for prayer and guidance to alleviate the workload of the Pastor by also assisting in spreading the Gospel to the congregation and to those in our community. We also carry out the Church’s benevolent work, and we receive new members into the church body. It is our duty along with the Deaconesses to prepare for the Lord’s Supper & assist candidates for Baptism.
Missionary Ministry
Ministry Leader: Vernell Copeland, Sarita Jeffries & Myiesha Jeffries
Meeting time: 3rd Tuesdays of the month at 7:00 PM
Description: The missionary department serves the needs of our members and community. The missionary department exemplifies love through charitable work. This department visits and reads to the residents of Universal Healthcare in Concord NC twice a month. They also work with the food pantry in Harrisburg, NC and provide clothing and other essentials to CVAN Women's Shelter in Concord NC.
Senior Ministry
Ministry Leader: Rev. Henrietta Clements, Theresa Stanton & Gayle Monroe
Description: The purpose of the Senior Ministry is to maintain a commitment to the Senior Adults of this congregation by recognizing their value in wisdom, experience, knowledge, talent and other God given spiritual gifts for the building of God’s Kingdom.
Intercessory Prayer Warriors
Ministry Leader: Min. Adrienne Johnson
Meets every Tuesday at 7:00 PM
Description: The purpose of intercessory prayer ministry is to lift up the needs of others in prayer. In addition, there is a Saturday 7:00 AM prayer line. If you are interested in supporting this ministry, please join us in on the second and fourth Sundays at 9 AM or on the phone line on Saturday mornings at 7 AM.
Marriage Ministry
Ministry Leader: Kerry & Cecilie Only
Description: The purpose of the Marriage Ministry works to provide tools to strengthen the relationship of married and engaged couples through Bible Study, prayer, education, conversation and other activities. It helps couples to build and reinforce their bond with each other and with God as the central part of their relationship.
Men’s Ministry
Ministry Leader: Min. James Alsop, Rev. Sheldon Davis, Dea. Willard Hill & David Reynolds
Description: The Men's Ministry seeks to bring goodwill and understanding among the men through Bible study, seminars, and other powerful programs that promote fellowship among the men of OGBC.
-Men’s Bible Study on 1st and 3rd Mondays at 7:00 PM
-Feed and minister to the homeless on the 5th Saturdays.
Women’s Ministry
Ministry Leaders: Linda McMillan & Tammy Parks
Description: The purpose of the Women's Ministry is to encourage, enrich, edify, and promote spiritual growth and community outreach through prayer, bible study, Christian education and fellowship. This ministry also enhances the mind of the woman to have a more Christ-like mind and spirit in all areas of their life including the spirit of serving one another and the sharing of skills and talents. All women of OGBC are asked to be a part of this ministry.
